During a trip to Mississippi, the Magnolia State, I wandered into an old‑growth forest filled with ancient magnolia trees. There I met Magnolia and her circle of craft‑loving girls. They gathered bark, fallen leaves and wild fruits from the woods, creating bark‑bound books from gifts of nature. This forest became the origin of Aster Hamlet
